The powerful in-line 6 cylinder engine on the 9-7X 4.2i model offers 290
horsepower and a free-revving character for sporty driving. The choice is yours.
Both are technically advanced light-alloy engines designed to provide sporty
performance across the full torque curve – while helping to deliver minimal
vibrations and noise. The automatic transmission is matched with the high torque
to provide rapid acceleration when passing. It's also fine-tuned to the
all-wheel drive system's capabilities.
The Saab 9-7X gives you advanced all-wheel drive with active control for driving
fun and stable driving. Fully automatic, this feature is designed to constantly
monitor all four wheels and distribute power from the rear to the front wheels

This innovative feature helps to reduce the risk of skidding on a slippery
surface. It is designed to compare the car's movements
with steering wheel input. A tendency to skid triggers the system to brake one
or more wheels and, if necessary, reduce the throttle opening.
