The insurance company will pursue a recovery from the liable third party on your behalf for the own damage excess you are liable to pay under the insurance policy. After a successful recovery is made by the insurance company, you will be reimbursed a ratable proportion of the policy excess less a recovery service charge (i.e. 10% of your recovered portion).
